Visit to UKAEA

Sarah Bugby, alongside colleagues from Wolfson, visited the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) to discuss the future of fusion energy.

This visit explored the use of simulations, digital twins and systems engineering in fusion and potential applications for Loughborough research.  The team also discussed the current and future skills needed in the fusion sector and how our programmes can help prepare graduates for work in this area. The visit also included a tour of the JET facility, which is now entering its Decommissioning and Repurposing phase - a process that offers valuable opportunities for continued research and learning as we move closer to delivering fusion energy.
